Makeup must haves for every girl

PicsArt_07-27-01.45.52

Makeup is a part of almost (do the not-so-almost ones really exist?? :P) every girl’s daily routine, it’s just that some of us want to keep it subtle and do not like the cakey face (God! Hate it when I have to go to a parlour and get ready). I still remember our girls gang queuing up, waiting for A to get all of us ready whenever we had to attend a friend’s wedding (what happened at A’s wedding is a different story altogether!).
Today, besties bring you a list of 5 minimal makeup products for those subtle changes that complement you and that not too makeup-y look of yours:

1. Maybelline Colossal Kajal and M.A.C gel eyeliner

Even the daily routine makeup is incomplete without a kajal (unless you are applying for a sick leave :P). Sometimes, all you need is a kajal and a lip gloss to go to a grocery store nearby as you are too lazy to get ready :P.
BN recommends Maybelline’s Colossal Kajal which comes in a yellow roll-on. We love it for its intense colour and the darkest shine which doesn’t fade or smudges easily.
And I swear by the M.A.C’s blacktrack gel eyeliner. It’s super easy to apply, doesn’t smudge and stays on for whole day. For all of those who are too lazy to grab a brush, we have a good news..you can apply Colossal Kajal on your upper lash line too. 😉

2. Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver

This one is a blessing as it’s a balm, a gloss and a lipstick; it actually serves all three purposes. It has a nice vanilla-mint scent and leaves your lips looking shiny. Unlike other balms, this one lasts for long and you can never go wrong with the application as it is a balm afterall. 😉
It comes in four different colours and so far, I have been able to try 2 only…sheer pink and coral. Sheer pink is my absolute favorite.

3. Guerlain Paris Météorites Base

The Meteorites Base Perfecting Pearls is one of the most popular and iconic products of Guerlain’s Météorites range. The bottle contains shimmery pearls suspended in a clear gel base. It is incredibly lightweight and just melts into the skin. The pearls collapse when you squeeze out the primer and are blended with the rest of the base to create a light shimmery watery gel that spreads easily on the skin and dries down quick enough to apply your foundation right away. Yes, I wear it under my foundation to create a smoother, more even finish and a visible shimmer.
It might come across as a bit expensive for a primer, but I have been using it for 3years now and have just started my second bottle. So, I don’t mind paying that much!

4. Red nail paint and lipstick

Red nail paint is a perennial beauty classic –  chic, sexy and sophisticated: the allure of red is timeless..it matches everything! If there is one beauty trend that will never go out of style, it would be red nail polish and lipstick. The colour knows no season barrier and can be carried upon all year around.
There is a famous quote by designer Bill Blass, “When in doubt, wear red!” which I couldn’t agree more to.

5. Versace Bright Crystal Perfume

Every look is incomplete without a right perfume and that is why, besties list out their personal favorite in this section.
The fragrance is fresh and uplifting while being strong and sensuous at the same time. I love this fragrance so much that its very much part of my identity right now! To me, it’s an all-season fragrance, which can be worn on a hot summer day or on a good winter evening. Plus, the bottle is a jewel resting on my dresser. 😉
Some people do not find the fragrance long-lasting, and for that I recommend combining it with Versace Eros deodorant stick.

No matter how much we love the listed products, but we are definitely open to try anything new in the market..it’s makeup after all! Please leave your suggestions and feedback in the comment section below!

Until next time…

V|XOXO

  2. I love this. Article. I’m not actually a big fan of Maybelline kajal, but I love almost all the other products by Maybelline. And, a red lipstick is a must have. It can elevate even the most simple outfit.

  6. I actually have the Maybelline Colossal Kajal and I love it. It is so soft and creamy, very easy to apply. And it lasts for quite some time as well.

  9. Oh man! You women are spoilt for choices. How do you guys even remember what to apply after what. “Absolutely amazing list of essentials”, my wife says, so I would have to agree. She is making me buy that lipstick, lip color and balm thing….hahahah!

    1. Dior Addict Lip Color Reviver is a balm actually but it also serves the purpose of a lipstick depending on the occasion(obviously, its too light if you are attending a wedding :P)..we love it for its multipurpose use and the effect it has on the lips 🙂

  10. There really is so much that I don’t understand about all of the makeup products out there on the market. I really would love to understand things like the perfume you list here better. I know that smelling good is so important. And as far as colognes I don’t even understand them very well. How do you determine what works for you. I do like the description of the perfume but would love to understand more. And then how it works with each persons body chemistry makes a difference from what I have been told.

    1. Yes it totally does and I personally pick what I like the most..something which is not too strong and sweet at the same time. I don’t like the fruity ones mostly and at the same time, something too strong gives me a headache so I pick which suits me the best and which has a gorgeous bottle too 😉
Technically, there is a whole lot to perfumes..the base note, top note, EDP/EDT which is a different discussion altogether and might interest you!

  11. I’ve heard so much about the Dior Addict Lip Glow but have yet to take the plunge and make a purchase. I think my personal make up must have at the moment would be my concealer – having way too many late nights.
